Mad Max: Fury Road has received nearly universal critical acclaim and the movie chalked up over 44 million dollars in its opening weekend, which is incredibly impressive for a movie with a hard R rating....

Echoing that point comes the news that Mario Kart 8, the latest in Nintendo’s long-running racing franchise, has hit 1.2 million units sold within its first three days of release. This according to Nintendo’s internal sales figures, which include numbers for North America, South American, Europe, and Japan. What’s more, Mario Kart 8 has now become the fastest selling Wii U title in the console’s 2-year lifespan. The title also joins the likes of Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros....

Social media users flocked online with complaints and memes, voicing frustrations about a pop-up box containing the warning “currently under maintenance.” The only clickable button led players back to the title screen. Another version warned about heavy traffic on the server. For its part, Nintendo indicated that it was well aware of the initial maintenance issues, but did not make any reference to the screenshots showing suspected traffic overloads....

In Marvel Vs. Capcom, the licensed fighting title may well have produced its magnum opus, a team-based brawler brimming with color, character and outrageous Hyper Combos. First released in 1998, as the mutant offspring of the X-Men: Children of the Atom arcade game, the series went on to spawn a number of successful home releases, including a recent array of digital downloads. Now, these latest ports appear to be in trouble, with Capcom announcing on Saturday that Marvel Vs....

One such license agreement that is seemingly coming to a close is that for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, which will disappearing from Xbox Live and PSN on December 31 and December 23, respectively. The fighting game compilation has been available for about two years, but in case there are any gamers waiting to pull the trigger now is the time. Capcom doesn’t provide a reason for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins’ removal, but we suspect it could have something to do with the game’s license....

DLC costumes are nothing new to both Mass Effect 3, which has some costume cross over with Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and Final Fantasy XIII-2, which has already announced a downloadable costume inspired by the Assassin’s Creed universe. It seems like we can’t go a few days without another piece of DLC being announced for Final Fantasy XIII-2, even if they are only costume changes for the game’s two playable main characters....

Now the biggest catch with these specs is the fact that they are for the aforementioned Mass Effect 3 demo, not the finished BioWare game, but we imagine the two are interchangeable. If your PC can’t run the demo one has to figure it can’t run the game at all. Specs are always the latest rage for PC gamers because not only do they help them see if their rig is up to snuff, but they can help even console gamers get a sense of just how much of a workhouse a certain game is....

We’ve known for some time that Mass Effect 3 would be subtly shifting even closer to the slick shooting mechanics of Mass Effect 2, but these new details are a sign of much greater depth than even we had expected. To date, the enemies of the Mass Effect universe have been relatively simply opponents. Firing on them takes off a standard amount of damage, with shots to the head taking slightly more off of their health bars....

At a PAX East panel, however, BioWare revealed some behind-the-scenes details that might change fans’ reaction regarding a sequel. Moreover, BioWare teased a new IP that is being developed by the original Mass Effect team. First up, Mass Effect 3 Creative Director Casey Hudson revealed that Mass Effect 4 (or whatever the next game will be called) is in development at BioWare Montreal, not the game’s original home, BioWare Edmonton....

Released in August 2019, Hunt: Showdown saw favorable reviews from fans and critics thanks to its unique and thrilling multiplayer gameplay. Taking place in 1895, the game tasks players, or hunters, with tracking and killing their target monster and retrieving a bounty while scavenging the map for gear that will help get the job done. The threat doesn’t end there, however, as other hunters will be competing to claim the bounty for themselves by any means necessary....

The gameplay appears similar to that of 2010’s Medal of Honor, but with the visuals of Battlefield 3 to match. On Friday, Mojang released its final version (1.14.4) of the Minecraft Village and Pillage update. According to the release notes, 1.14.4 will hammer out any addition bugs and issues that have been reported, while adding a few fun features to Villagers like the ability to remember gossip. The team will now turn its efforts towards update 1.15. Update 1.15 is rumored to bring new features like functionality for smithing tables and fletching tables, as well as quality and performance improvements....

Considering Twitch is the largest video game streaming provider in the world, and the insanely popular Minecraft is already one of the top games on Twitch, the partnership is one which made sense from the beginning. Now, the public finally has a chance to test out the integrated features for themselves. Mojang announced the release of the Minecraft 1.7.4 a few days ago with word that the Snapshot would release today, which includes full support for Twitch streaming straight from the in-game environment....
