For those that don’t know, the Child’s Play charity drive was started after a group of fans disappointed in how BioWare concluded their Mass Effect series got together and decided to put their petitioning for a better ending to good use. Since then, BioWare has acknowledged many of the complaints regarding the ending, and have even claimed that new DLC for the game will resolve some of those issues....
In fact, as revealed by a new unboxing video for Mass Effect 3, the game will feature a reversible cover, with one side featuring a male Shepard and the other a female one. That Fem Shep image is of course the one who went through a rigorous fan vote, and has been seen more recently in a bunch of Mass Effect 3 promotional items including a trailer. She may not be everyone’s version of Shepard, but at least the sex can be correct on your box art....
Over the past weekend, during the Spike Video Game Awards, the first trailer for Mass Effect 3 was released to much fanfare and some naysaying. This time around it looks like Commander Shepard will be working to protect home planet Earth from an invading army. Deciding to use Earth as a source of conflict in the finale is a major point of contention among Mass Effect fans. While it certainly should have been expected considering the series’ “protect the universe” plot, the decision to venture to Earth has left some gamers fearing a finale that will leave them unsatisfied....

Members of Rockstar Vancouver’s team (there were said to be about 35 developers on staff at the time of the closure) are being offered a position at Rockstar Toronto or one of the other various Rockstar Games facilities based around North America. The Ontario government is partially funding the creation of Rockstar Toronto, and Rockstar hopes to bring on about 50 developers for future projects. What this means for the future of the Max Payne franchise, though, is unclear since Rockstar Vancouver was the company, along with Rockstar Toronto, responsible for delivering the most recent exploits of the hard-boiled detective, Max Payne 3....

One of the first games Inafune announced after leaving the prestigious Japanese gaming publisher was Kaio: King of Pirates, an action RPG for the 3DS. The Mega Man creator based the story of Kaio off the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms (which is also the source material for Dynasty Warriors), but replaced historical figures with animal pirates to appeal to a larger audience. The publisher for Inafune’s Kaio: King of Pirates, Marvelous, has now announced that development for the game has been cancelled....
Russell praised his future team’s loyalty to Bottas, the Finnish driver who helped the team win multiple constructors’ trophies. Now, new details for BioWare’s canceled project have surfaced, including the game’s title, Mass Effect: Team Assault, as well as in-development screenshots that showcase familiar weaponry, the M-8 Avenger assault rifle, as well as the return of everyone’s favorite least favorite vehicle, the Mako. Any Mass Effect die-hards that can already feel their guts churning at the prospect of a first person fight against the reapers can relax (at least for the time being), as the screenshots are from a couple years back - with a development build date of March 25th 2010....
