According to a PR pamphlet quoted by Shack News, Infiltrator is a third-person shooter that will feature authentic weapons and powers from the Mass Effect series and will tout “stunning graphics.”
The game will be available across the iOS board, including iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad, though the exact release date wasn’t divulged. In addition to the “Galactic Readiness” the game will provide, it will also unlock exclusive weapons for use in Mass Effect 3.
Also on the horizon is Mass Effect Datapad, another tie-in app revealed at an EA event in New York. Joystiq reports that, like Infiltrator, Datapad will be available for iOS, but only for iPad users. It will work with the console and PC versions of Mass Effect 3 in some capacity that has yet to be revealed. Be assured it will have to do with unlocking something within the main game. We’re also assuming its reception will turn out far better than the novel fiasco.
Those who have iOS devices, rejoice! Those who have iPads, rejoice harder! Either way, gamers will have plenty of ways to get a leg up when the trilogy’s epic finale hits stores next month.
Mass Effect Infiltrator and Mass Effect Datapad for iOS will release sometime before Mass Effect 3 launches on March 6, 2012.
