The summer movie season begins this week and that means a Marvel movie is hitting theaters. Last year, The Avengers broke records around the world opening in the first weekend of May and this Friday, Iron Man 3 aims to do the same. In fact, it’s already breaking records internationally.
Smartly taking advantage of the timing and the buzz, Marvel’s games division is opening up their long-in-development free-to-play online RPG Marvel Heroes to the public with the open beta this weekend.
Gazillion Entertainment officially launches the Marvel Heroes Open Beta Weekend beginning on Friday, May 3 at 7:00 PM PT through Monday May 6 at 10:00AM PT and the timing of the release couldn’t be better.
The isn’t however, the full open beta launch as it is just limited for the weekend. Marvel Heroes launches officially on June 4th and to guarantee early access, interested players can become a founder. Click here for details on Marvel Heroes’ Founders Packs.
Starter Pack purchasers will receive 2 days of Early Access beginning on June 2nd. Premium Pack purchasers will receive 4 days of Early Access beginning on May 31st. Ultimate Pack purchasers will receive 7 days of Early Access beginning on May 28th.
The Starters Packs includes loads of costumes based on themes, including of course a set of Iron Man armors, and the newest pack featuring a Thor theme, titled “Son of Asgard”. It includes the Thor character, five costumes, in-game money and a few boosts.

The real bonuses from participating in the Marvel Heroes Founders program are the additional costumes, heroes and boosts.
